Young professionals in this day and age are on the move 24/7. Squeezing in a workout 3-4 times a week seems virtually impossible, BUT establishing a healthy lifestyle early on pushes us to maintain it later in life. I mean imagine if we never worked out a day in our life and then the day we turn 42 we realize we need to change how things are going. That's NOT going to be easy. So why not make it a little easier for yourself by being healthy and active earlier on? 

Here are 5 reasons why young people, and more specifically young on-the-go professionals, should prioritize their health:

1. Maintaining a routine now makes life so much easier!!!

As mentioned earlier, do you really want to be a 42 year old who doesn't even know how to start with their health journey? Why not get a head start on everything now.

2. It's the perfect excuse to socialize

Grab a friend and hit the gym or go to a class and meet new people. Either way, as a young person growing our circles is very important. Using a gym visit to do that is a two birds one stone type of thing! It's also always great to be on your fitness journey with someone else and have people holding you accountable to push yourself and go to the gym!

3. Gives you a head start to the day (or a good cool down after a full day's work)

Whether you workout before or after work, giving yourself 30 minutes to an hour to yourself not thinking about work, school, or any other responsibility gives you the opportunity you need to work on and appreciate yourself. Nowadays so many people are on-the-go all the time and forget to take a second to themselves. Working out is the perfect opportunity to let loose and forget everything on your mind!

4. It is the cool thing to do

No, I do not mean that we just went all the way back to high school where we want to sit with the cool kids. It's not for the status or how you will look to others because you work out and take care of yourself and are fit and fabulous!!!! What I mean it is the cool and awesome thing to do for yourself. This is a testament to self love and self care at its core. 

Working out and focusing on yourself in your young professional years where you're slaving away and doing anything you can do to establish yourself in the world is a lot, we get that. But it is also just the most awesome and blissful feeling to know that you got through it even after working a billion hours in one day,
